CAT LOVERS are in for a treat when Kedi, the 2016 Turkish film, about the street cats of Istanbul, is screened in the Town Hall Theatre this weekend.
Thousands of street cats roam Istanbul, visiting shops and restaurants, knowing they will get a few scraps of food. Some spend their days trying to defend their kittens. Others are nocturnal hunters, keeping the local rodent population at bay in return for treats from grateful locals.
Kedi is screened by the Galway Film Society on Sunday October 8. Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
