Gould Piano Trio to play NUIG

Programme to feature music by Beethoven, Ravel, and Simpson

SINCE WINNING first prize at both Florence's Premio Vittorio Gui and the Melbourne Chamber Music Competition, the Gould Piano Trio has firmly asserted itself as one of the most outstanding piano trios of today and this year is marking its 25th anniversary.

The trio - Lucy Gould (violin ), Alice Neary (cello ), and Benjamin Firth (piano ) - play the Emily Anderson Concert Hall, NUI Galway on Wednesday October 11 at 8pm. The programme features Beethoven's Piano Trio in G Op 1 No 2, an innovative early work by the composer; Ravel’s evocative Piano Trio in Am, a work immortalised in the 1992 French film Un Coeur En Hiver; and the Irish premiere of Mark Simpson's After Avedon, a reaction to four photographs by the influential American photographer Richard Avedon.
