Literacy classes for children with dyslexia

The Galway branch of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland runs literacy classes for children assessed as being dyslexic on Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 5pm to 7pm and on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12 noon in Tirellan Heights primary school. Specially trained teachers are available who teach the children in small groups. These classes were previously held at the Galway Educate Together school.

A talk on Paired Reading will take place at Galway Teachers’ Centre off the Monivea Road on October 5 from 7pm to 8.30pm. It will be given by Ann Owen Jones and Rosaleen Crowe O’Neill, co-ordinators of the Galway Branch of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland, and will be followed by a question and answer session.
