CANALETTO, THE 18th century Italian artist, celebrated for his paintings of Venice and London, will be the subject of the next Exhibition on Screen documentary to be screened at The Eye Cinema.
Canaletto and the Art of Venice will be shown on Tuesday September 26 at 6.30pm. The film will provide a detailed insight into the work of Canaletto (real name Giovanni Antonio Canal ), guided by Royal Collection Trust curators and the world’s leading experts in Venetian history, as well as the chance to 'step inside' Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, to learn more about the artist, and Joseph Smith, the man who introduced Canaletto to Britain.
