Homes and businesses targeted by thieves

Gardai in the city and county are investigating a series of burglaries over the past two weeks and are appealing for help from the public.

Between 4am and 5am early on Tuesday morning, Sept 5, a house in Gleann Rua, Lurgan Park in Renmore was broken into.

Entry was gained to the house by forcing an upstairs window. A black and white Alcatel phone, a black Playstation 3, and an assortment of Playstation games were taken, along with some other personal items.

Corofin

On the same date, a house in Garrai Glas in Corofin was broken into. The house was entered through an open utility room window. Cash was taken from the house. Any witnesses to this burglary, is asked to contact Tuam Gardai, 093 70840 where Garda Mark Shine is investigating.

During the night on Thursday-Friday September 7-8, between 3.30am and 4.30am a house in Gort na Coiribe on the Headford Road was broken into. The culprits entered through an unlocked downstairs window; and a silver Macbook was taken.

Dunmore

At approximately 5:40pm on Saturday just gone, the 9th of September. A house in Lisroe in Dunmore was burgled. A light blue colured car, partial reg 04G, and possibly a VW Passat or Ford Mondeo is sought in connection with the burglary Any information on this or any witnesses please contact Tuam Garda Station again, 093 70840. Sandwich bar attacked by burglars

At 2.10am on Sunday last September 10, O’Briens’ Sandwich Bar in Liosban Estate was broken in to. Three or four males pulled up in a navy Audi saloon, two males exited wearing balaclavas and smashed the front door of the shop.

The culprits were disturbed by employees at a neighbouring premises and fled in the waiting car. Any information on this please to Galway Gardai 091 538000, where Garda Paul Duffy is investigating.

During the night on Sunday night there was a burglary at the An Cruiscin Lan Hotel, Spiddal. The culprit went behind the counter in the hotel and took various items including a Dell Latitude laptop, three modems and a picture of the Aran Islands.
