Specialist training for counsellors and psychotherapists

The Galway Rape Crisis Centre is running an intensive 14 day training for counsellors and psychotherapists who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills for working in this complex area. GRCC maintains a very high standard of counselling expertise in its work – all its counsellors are fully qualified and/or accredited with IAHIP/IACP and have additional expertise in the area of sexual violence.

On successful completion of the training participants may be offered the opportunity to join the team of volunteer counsellors in the Galway Rape Crisis Centre. This will enable the centre to expand its work and shorten the waiting times of survivors who are seeking counselling and support from our service.

As a volunteer counsellor you will make a difference in the lives of survivors of sexual violence and their families. You will work as part of a team of staff and volunteers in Galway Rape Crisis Centre who provide a much needed service for Galway and the surrounding counties. You will also receive in-house supervision and support and gain valuable experience in working in the area of sexual violence.

Application forms and further details may be obtained on www.galwayrrcc.org or by phoning 091 564800.
