20 new jobs to be created for Galway

Galway set to benefit as Bluebird Care plans to increase workforce over coming months

A total of 20 new jobs are to be created in Galway by Bluebird Care, which provides domestic nursing and social care for individuals,as part of the company's expansion in 26 locations throughout the State.

The company is planning to increase its workforce by 20 per cent in the coming months, requiring the recruitment of an additional 370 staff in its offices around Ireland. According to Fine Gael Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton, 20 of the new jobs will be located in Galway, while a further 10 will be based in Mayo and Sligo.

“This announcement is most welcome from both a social and economic perspective,” she said. "It will help meet the important social goal of enabling vulnerable people to continue living at home in their own communities.”

Bluebird Care provides services for individuals requiring convalescence, and people diagnosed with dementia, acquired brain injury, and various disabilities. Its services are frequently engaged by the HSE and other agencies. Dep Naughton said she looks forward "to seeing the multifaceted benefits of this expansion in Galway over the coming months".
