Banish all back to school blues and join the September Fest this Sunday in Killannin Community Centre and GAA grounds.
St Annin’s National School in Roscahill is hosting the fun-packed day to raise funds or IT equipment and other essential resources at the school.
Children and adults will enjoy the hosts of activities, including emergency services displays with the gardaí, army, mountain rescue, cvil defence and fire brigade all in action.
And on the pitches, the whole family will be entertained. In addition to a bouncy castle village, the Family Skills Challenge will see the whole family competing together as a team in 10 novel activities. There are also two individual obstacle courses, while Corrib Athletic Club has a range of races planned for different age groups.
The community centre will host a sale of books, toys, handbags and accessories, and visitors can take a rest with a cuppa and delicious baking. More food stalls will be available outside, where burgers and sausages from the barbeque, or a tasty treat from the tuck shop, will tempt visitors.
Youngsters will love the face painting, hair dos and nail art, and a raffle will be held every hour with great prizes to be won. The Galway Bay FM Baycaster will be broadcasting live from 12pm when the action kicks off at Killannin Community Centre and pitches.
