Rogers goes clear to win Claregalway's 30th race

Kenneth Rogers of St Johns AC in Clare won the 30th edition of the annual Claregalway 10k Road Race.

He crossed the tape in a swift time of 32.04, well clear of Matt Bidwell of Galway City Harriers, who was second home in 34.20, with Philip Niland of Celbridge AC third in 34.52.

Deirdre Grady of Ennis Track AC won the women's race in 38.51, with Elaine Walsh of GCH second in 40.29, and Yvonne Fehily of Athenry AC third in 41.57.

Fit for Life

The Fit for Life programme returns to Galway athletics clubs in September .

The programme recommences on Monday September 4 at 7pm, meeting in the church car park in Athenry.

The Galway Primary Schools' Cross Country races for 2017 will take place on Tuesday September 19 and 26 in Renmore. The first day hosts the wast and west division semi finals, with the finals on the second day.
