New term starts September 18 at the Galway Study Centre

Bookings have been ongoing since early June for the weekly afterschool and Saturday classes which the Galway Study Centre offers to Leaving Cert, fifth year, and Junior Cert students from September 18. Nearly all subjects are offered with a good choice of days and times available, especially at Leaving Cert level. Study skills classes will also commence from late September and will run once per week for four weeks.

The study centre has been around for 33 years. Central to its success story is a team of highly motivated and experienced tutors who work hard and very effectively to maximise each student’s potential to obtain good grades. Their approach is creative and, more importantly, provides for a really enjoyable learning experience. It is an approach that has paid off once more in terms of top class Leaving Cert results.

The school’s director, Paul Lawless, is delighted at the positive feedback from his students and that so many have accomplished their goals and got the points required for their courses. He maintains that the extra tuition that they have received throughout the year, in addition to the teaching given in their regular schools, have combined to give them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to attain some exceptional examination grades.

Across all the subjects that were offered at the centre during the year, the standard of Leaving Cert grades achieved was excellent. Particularly pleasing was the number of students who got the bonus points in Leaving Cert higher level mathematics, with over 98 per cent achieving this goal. In addition, 85 per cent of the mathematics students obtained a H5 or higher.
