Sean grew up in Mervue and has been writing since his teenage years in the 1970s. He was educated in St Joseph’s College ‘The Bish’. Since then he has taught English as a foreign language, been a youth worker, a taxi driver, and latterly has worked in the intellectual disability sector.
His writing has always been informed by his own experiences and A Very Personal Service is the first in a series of novels featuring fictional Galway taxi-driver Ben Miller. It tells of Miller’s attempt to find out who is behind the series of grisly murders of young women who have been trafficked into the country to work in the sex industry. His efforts are thwarted by a brutal and congenitally corrupt cop on one hand, yet aided on the other by Officer Siobhán O’Grady and a young gay officer, Aaron Dempsey, who has his own reasons for going against his superiors.
