Fine art print of Clondaw Warrior for grabs at JT McNamara event

The Equine Photographer (https://www.facebook.com/theequinephotographer/ ) Martina Regan, known for her capturing the character of champion thoroughbreds, has produced a stunning photo of Clondaw Warrior, trained by Willie Mullins, which will auctioned to raise funds for the Irish Injured Jockeys at the g Hotel on Wednesday 2nd August.

Martina has been on location at Willie Mullins’ yard to photograph some of his top horses including both Wicklow Brave and Clondaw Warrior. Wicklow Brave is frequently ridden by Patrick Mullins, son of the racing impresario and won the Punchestown Champion Hurdle in April. He has proven himself a high-class stayer whether it be in jumps races or on the flat and posted a career best win in the Irish St Leger last year as well as taking part in the Melbourne Cup ridden by championship jockey Frankie Detorri.

Clondaw Warrior is very well known in Galway having won the 2016 Galway Hurdle to huge crowds on Ladies Day at Ballybrit. The victory was made all the sweeter as it was winning jockey Ruby Walsh’s final feather in his cap for Galway having chased the elusive Hurdle throughout his career. Clondaw Warrior is owned by the Act da Wagg syndicate which includes Ruby’s wife Gillian Walsh; Aine Casey, wife of jockey David Casey; Tamso Doyle Cox and Aisling Lawlor. He has taken in victory at Royal Ascot and had had notable runs at glamorous flat extravaganzas in both York and Longchamp.

This one off print signed by both Willie and Ruby, is one of a number of fabulous prizes that will be featured at the JT McNamara Memorial event. Host on the evening will be Hector Ó hEochagáin and James Heaslip will be on hand for the auction. To make a silent bid in advance of the fundraising event or for more information contact Martina on [email protected] or see www.irishinjuredjockeys.com
