GALWAY SINGER-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Emma Lohan has released 'Serekunda', the first single from her forthcoming album Black Atlantic, ahead of a home-town gig this weekend.
Lohan, who is based in London, will play the Secret Garden Tea Rooms, William Street West, on Saturday July 29. My Fellow Sponges' Anna Mullarkey will also be playing.
'Serekunda' has already met with praise, Silversoundz.com calling it "powerfully understated, intimate, and uniquely moving offering that grabs your attention from the first guitar chord"; and Indie and More, declaring, “Loose Africa at the beginning and chilling at the end: Beautiful.” It also reached No 1 in the Irish iTunes singer songwriters charts on the day of its release.
Lohan will undertake an Irish and British tour to promote Black Atlantic, due for release in 2018. The tour takes place in October and will see Lohan accompanied by her six-piece band, including Gregory Sanders-Gallego on lead guitar.
