Top tips on how to look and feel your best at this years Galway races.

When choosing an outfit for Ladies Day at the races, there are a few things I take into consideration.

Allow your body shape and colouring dictate your outfit rather than the latest fashion trends, I tend to go for strong vibrant colours as I think they work well with my skin tone.

Uses the weather as a factor. As we all know, the Irish weather is very unpredictable. Consider wearing a coat or shrug and do Not forget an umbrella!

Embrace colour as much as possible, particularly the beautiful pastel pinks, yellows and taupe tones in the shops at the minute. They are great colours on Irish ladies, no matter what colour hair or skin you have.

In terms of a headpiece, hats are a great way to add that extra pop as they completely finish an outfit. it is important that the design complements both you and your outfit. For example, if you are wearing a multicoloured dress, it is best to keep your hat a little more simplistic – perhaps only choosing one colour from your dress. But, if your dress is very simplistic, you can go a little crazier with the hat!

When it comes to hats, size matters, and a petite lady should not wear a very large hat as it can reduce her height and hide her face. Likewise, a larger lady can look better with a bigger hat as it can give more structure to your over all look.

Accessories can be a great way to bring more of your own personality to your outfit, but always remember Audrey’s famous words.. “less is more”

A nice even golden tan can finish the look with simple but elegant makeup, and an up do on your hair will have yours over all look complete and a definite winner.
