DAVID MARTIN, known as Ireland’s ‘Singing Soldier’ takes to the stage of the Town Hall Theatre with his A Night At The Opera show, to perform an array of classical favourites.
The concert, on Saturday July 8 at 8pm, will feature the military man perform such songs as 'The Prayer', 'Macushla', and 'Nessun Dorma'. As well as being a member of the Irish Defence Forces, the Dundalk man is also part of the Five Irish Tenors, with whom he completed a successful 40+ date US tour. He began solo performances in January.
“It’s just a few months since I went on the stage for my first ever solo performance and I loved every minute of it," he said. "“Then it was on to America and that was a once in a lifetime experience – We travelled across the country, through snow and sunshine. We performed to capacity audiences and we took in some fantastic sights along the way. I was only home and it was back to work as an Army sergeant but also straight onto planning the midsummer tour.”
