City book launch for US author of paranormal Bohermore novel

Jennifer Rose McMahon will officially launch her new paranormal/historical novel, Bohermore, in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, Middle Street, tomorrow at 6.30pm. There will also be a book signing, reading, and Q&A.

Bohermore, book one in Jennifer’s Pirate Queen Series, featuring the 16th century pirate queen Grace O’Malley, has already enjoyed critical acclaim, with Publisher’s Weekly saying: “McMahon’s excellent debut makes a contemporary paranormal mystery feel cozy and romantic. Teen and adult readers alike will be clamoring for the sequel.” Sarah Kelly, the O’Malley Clan chieftain, said: “Jennifer’s novel captures the connection with the past which we treasure in Ireland. The Irish landscape, contemporary social life, the Irish language, and romance are woven into this fantasy story. I am certainly looking forward to the sequel.”

Jennifer is from Boston and is married to Galwegian Dara McMahon. They have four children. Book two of the Pirate Queen Series, Inish Clare, is scheduled for release in November.
