Michéal Donoghue does not do hyperbole. He is too long around the block to do anything except take every game on its own merits, and next week's Leinster final will not be any different.
After last Sunday’s 19-0 point win over Offaly, the Clarinbridge man is maintaining the same mantra that has served his squad so far this season - game by game.
They will prepare professionally and methodically for the next challenge and see where that brings them.
“For the last few weeks the focus has been exclusively on Offaly. And for the next two weeks we'll be preparing for a Leinster final," says Donoghue. "The objective last Sunday was to come in, win the game, and get to the Leinster final. The lads worked hard for the last couple of weeks and thankfully we came away with the win.
“Winning is a habit. We have done well in the last few games. We just keep going. That’s the nature of the beast.”
After two wins over Limerick in the league, then a fine performance and win over Tipperary in the league final, and now two easy championship victories over Dublin and Offaly in the Leinster championship, Galway supporters will be hoping the winning habit can continue for a few more games this year.
One more victory would at the minimum, see the Bob O’Keeffe Cup coming west for only the second time.
