The Clockworks - live in the city

Galway trio to play The Cellar this Saturday

THE CLOCKWORKS, one of the most impressive young Galway bands on the scene today, who have released a number of promising singles, play The Cellar this weekend.

The band - James McGregor (vocals/bass ), Seán Connelly (guitar ), and Damian Greaney (drums ) - from Loughrea, play The Cellar, Eglinton Street, this Saturday at 9pm.

Inspired by The Libertines, The Clash, and The Smiths, the trio's stripped down sound features tight, taut, rhythms; sharp guitar riffs, atmosphere, and intelligent lyrics, as heard on the singles 'Mazda' and 'Girls Like You'.

Hot Press said, "You'll be hearing a lot more about The Clockworks"; The Last Mixed Tape praised their "street-level sound...with gritty guitars, pin-point drumming, and wryly observational lyrics"; while Musician.ie compared them to The Streets and The Arctic Monkeys. Their music has been played on Irish and British radio stations, and the BBC Radio 1's legendary Annie Mac is a fan.

Admission is €3.
