People of the Tribes : Meet Gerry Devaney

.

''I came to Galway in 1966 and started working for the local milk company,I worked there two years and I fell in love with a girl and bought a mini car. Isn't it funny, with all the vans and cars I have,I can't think of their reg numbers but I can tell you the reg of my first one - LZH561, a small mini car. I pulled into Eyre Square with a bit of stuff and never looked back since. I'm 52 years here.

Galway reared my family I have 8 of my own kinds and 12 grandkids. I would put Galway as a picture on a map that anything can be achieved, you can earn a living like I did, it's out there waiting for you. Its a beautiful place filled with amazing people who like to challenge themselves and lovely to speak to.''
