Two concerts from The Whileaways

Galway Americana trio to play Headfest and Galway International Arts Festival

THE WHILEAWAYS, the acclaimed Galway folk/Americana trio will play two Galway shows at two different festivals - this month they play Headford's Hedfest, and next month is the Galway International Arts Festival.

The band - Noriana Kennedy, Noelie McDonnell, Nicola Joyce - are a trio of songwriters, singers, and vocalists, who have won critical acclaim for their albums and live performances. Their most recent album, Saltwater Kisses, received a four star review in The Irish Times and was RTÉ Radio 1 Album of the week on its release.

The Whileaways plays Monaghan's Big Red Barn, Headford, on Friday June 16, for Headfest. More than 40 young local musicians from Headford Music Works, conducted by Matthew Berrill, will open the show. They will also join The Whileaways for a number of songs.

The trio also play Monroe's Live on Wednesday July 26 at 9pm, for a Galway International Arts Festival show. They will be joined by The Saltwater Ensemble, an eight-piece brass and string ensemble, led again by Matt Berrill. See www.monroes.ie and www.giaf.ie #GIAF17
