Metal, heft, sludge - and two FEAST debuts

Hornets, Bisect, and Leechmout

IT IS their first Galway gig in four years, and their debut gig at FEAST. Either way if you have not seen Belfast band Hornets before, this weekend provides you with the excuse to rectify that omission.

Hornets play the next FEAST gig in the upstairs bar of the Róisín Dubh this Saturday at 8.30pm. The band fuse black metal, punk, crust metal, and good old fashioned heft into a whirlwind of ordered, yet distorted chaos, guaranteed to rattle audience teeth and bones. Hornets are also due to release their new album Witch Hunt.

Also on the bill are Cork’s Bisect, also making their Feast debut. They recently released a split with fellow southerners Horse. It sees the quartet refine their sludge, grooves, and heft approach into a landslide of aggression listeners will be unable to avoid.

Support is from Galway band Leechmouth. Doors are at 8.30pm. Admission is €6.
