THE SONORAN Desert Chorale from Arizona will give a concert at the Galway Cathedral featuring Renaissance and contemporary Irish compositions and arrangements of traditional Irish songs.
The 60 strong ensemble is directed by its founder Jeff Harris, who won the Arizona Music Educators Association's Arizona Music Educator of the Year Award in 2008 and in 2015 won its Lifetime Achievement Award. The chorale has twice performed for the National Convention of the American Choral Directors Association and in 2014 performed at the D-Day commemorations in Normandy, France.
The concert takes place on Wednesday June 7 at 7.30pm. Admission is free but donations are encouraged for the Ronald McDonald House at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, which provides accommodation and support for families whose children are seriously ill and hospitalised.
