Fresh from their exploits in England, the Galway & District League Ladies team now face a strong domestic challenge when they host Dundalk LFC in the last 16 of the Senior WFAI cup at Terryland Park this Sunday (3pm ).
Galway are the current holders and they will will be eager to build on their recent form at the Manchester Umbro Cup when they finished runners-up to Everton in the elite group, losing just 1-0.
This is the first time the Galway Ladies will be in action at home since they won the cup for the first time last October.
The team is backboned by Salthill Devon and Galway Bohs players, while Ashe Rovers are also represented.
The team is littered with quality players, including Melissa Casserly in goal, Annette Clarke in defence, Meabh De Burca and Julie-Ann Russell in midfield. and Kara Mullins up front.
This will be the squad's final competitive game before they travel to Bosnia in September for the UEFA cup qualifiers.
