World Day of Prayer at St Nicholas’

St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church be the location for Galway’s contribution to the World Day of Prayer tomorrow at 8pm.

The World Day of Prayer movement had its beginning back in 1812 and has spreading since then. The first services in Ireland were the two services in 1934 in Dublin. Since then, different Christian churches have been gathering together on the first Friday of March each year to pray.

The World Day of Prayer service is prepared by the women of a different country each year on a different themes. This year it has been prepared by the women of Papua New Guinea with the theme ‘In Christ There Are Many Members Yet One Body’.
