A FEAST of polyrhythmic heaviness

Hibagon, Bicurious, and Ropemaker to play Róisín Dubh this weekend

HIBAGON, THE heavy, polyrhythmic, duo from Bergamo, northern Italy, headline the next FEAST night this Saturday at 8.30pm in the Róísín Dubh's upstairs bar.

Hibagon channels the energy of the straightforward guitar and drums formula into irregular textures, bringing it back to the listener in 'geometric and distorted frames'. Last month they released their second album, the 12-track Polyposmic.

Also playing are Bicurious, a loud, instrumental and experimental Dublin duo, who should appeal to fans of Giveamanakick. Their music has heft and energy, but also makes space for melody. We understand there are occasional guest appearances on drums from Samuel L Jackson and Donald Trump. Unfortunatley neither man is likely to play at the Galway gig.

Support is from Ropemaker - David Slattery (guitar ), Alan Eakins (drums ), Shane Reilly (bass ) - from Laois who play instrumental rock. Admission is €6.
