New coach operator GoBus has just announced a daily point-to-point return service operating from Galway to Dublin.
It offers 14 direct services from Galway to Dublin, and Dublin to Galway, at an estimated journey time of 2hrs 45mins, and a flat rate of just €10 each way. An add-on service to Dublin Airport is also available on each departure from Galway for €5 extra.
GoBus is operated by Jim Burke & Sons of Tuam. The Volvo 9700, which is the model that GoBus has opted for its fleet, won Coach of the Year 2008 as it was regarded as offering superior passenger safety and comfort, including toilet facilities, WIFI, a climate control ventilation system, and three-point safety belts
GoBus will create 35 new jobs including positions for drivers, administration, ticketing, cleaning, maintenance, and coach services. It operates from the LAMA award-winning coach station on Fairgreen Road.
Morning departures begin at 1.15am, almost hourly, until 11.15pm. Buses leave Dublin from 5.45am, again almost hourly, right up until 11pm.
