Fun and frolics promised as series of social dancing nights announced for Connacht Hotel

There is no better way to learn to dance than on the dance floor, radio presenter Julie Healy said this week when she announced the commencement of a series of social dancing evenings to be held in the Connacht Hotel, Galway from next week.

She is starting a new social dancing night in the Ryan Room at the Connacht Hotel and it all commences next Wednesday May 10.

“We are inviting all people, young and old. Social dancing should be enjoyed by everyone, and we are providing a forum for that to happen. People will be dancing to a live band, so it is recreating the atmosphere of the traditional dance event.

“There will be jiving and waltzing and all sorts of dancing and there will be plenty of partners for everyone, so if you want to come on your own, feel free.

“Every week in the Connacht Hotel, we will be having a different band playing the live music for the dancing. Michael and Philomela O’Brien will start the first week and admission is €8.

“Doors will open at 9pm and dancing will be from 10pm to 12.30, so it will be a real social event for people to enjoy in comfortable surroundings. There is a great need for social dancing these days and we are sure that our Wednesday night social dancing event in the Connnacht Hotel will prove to be very popular. So, tell your friends and family and get along for what will be the start of a great series of Wednesday night fun at the Connacht Hotel.
