The popular Galway 5km Series kicked off its 11th year with the first race at Ballybrit racecourse on Tuesday evening.
The series, sponsored again this year by Bradley Renault, is the Galway Athletic Club's initiative to provide a no-frills series of races to attract as many people to enjoy the sport of running.
Robert Bradley of Bradley Renault says it is a great series with which to be associated. "As a company we love being involved in outdoor and fitness events. I myself know the benefits of a fit lifestyle and it's great to help bring that message further. Plus, our team will be bringing a range of Renault vehicles to the events so people are welcome to come along and have a look,"
In addition to the main sponsor Bradley Renault, the series is supported by other local organisations and businesses, including the HSE, Proactive and Annertech.
