Corinthians finish

Corinthians finished the season with a 43-10 victory over Blackrock to secure a comfortable mid table position in division 2A.

Having suffered 10 losses and flirted with relegation throughout in the Ulster Bank League, head coach Eneliko Fa'atau and Gavin Duffy guided their team to a late run of four vital wins at the end of the season.

On Saturday afternoon the Dubliners were first on the score board when left winger Shane Brennan and hooker Erin Olden grabbed a try each for a 10-0 lead. However Corinthians took control, using their scrum as the platform, with prop Alan Bane slipping in for the first try, converted by outhalf Jack Feeney.

A yellow card for Rock's winger Shane Brennan set up the second, when the home pack drove over the try line for their second touchdown from a penalty. Within minutes they added a third via the same route for a 17-10 half-time lead.

The home side were completely on top in the second half. Winger Dave McDermott intercepted out wide and scrambled through the visitors' cover for an excellent try; fullback Ross Keller linked with right winger Colm McDermott in a move which saw flanker Sam McCormack grab the fifth try; Keller securing another touchdown; and lock Lise Soloa finished the rout as the referee blew for full time.
