Galway - a graphic portrayal

A new exhibition in a new venue from Conor Burke and Melanie McDonagh

TWO SALTHILL natives - Conor Burke and Melanie McDonagh - have created a series of works taking an irreverent look at the social, seasonal, and architectural icons of Salthill itself, for their new exhibition, Amusement.

Burke and McDonagh are third year art students in GMIT. As Galway natives they have life long memories of Salthill, and their works incorporate images of the bandstand in Salthill Park, various buildings in the area, as well as the natural landscape, through drawings, paintings, and prints. McDonagh's Hockney-esque depiction of Leisureland swimming pool is below.

Amusement will be launched upstairs in the newly opened Salthill Social Coffee Shop and Restaurant at 14 Lenaboy Gardens, at 6pm on Thursday April 27. All are welcome to attend. The exhibition will run until May 10.
