SEAN NÓS singer Lasairfhíona Ní Chonaola, "a pure breath of everything that is beautiful about Ireland", according to the BBC Folk & Acoustic Reviews, is to sing at the Cúirt International Festival of Literature.
The singer, from Inis Óirr, Aran Islands, plays The King’s Head, on Friday April 28 at 1pm, as part of the Cúirt Songs From A Room gig series. She will perform songs from her most recent album, One Penny Portion - described as "a vibrant and subtle return of a major song stylist" by FolkRoots magazine; as well as from her critically acclaimed debut, An Raicín Álainn (2002 ) and Flame of Wine (2005 ), songs from which were used in the award-winning BBC programme Coast.
