THROUGH HIS guitar playing and physical storytelling, Fred Cooke delivers a distinctive brand of comedy, and he is about to make a welcome return to the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh this week.
Fred Cooke plays the Clubh in the upstairs bar of the Dominick Street venue tomorrow from 9pm. He has appeared on hit RTE shows Republic of Telly, The Fear, and The Savage Eye, and played comedy festivals across the world. Recently, he has been on tour as support for Tommy Tiernan, who said Fred, “has the real spirit of the clown in him”.
Support is from Ger Staunton, who The International Comedy Club calls, "one of the best comedy writers in Ireland. An absolute stand out”; and Jessamyn Fairfield, the woman behind Bright Club, a variety night where researchers become comedians. She also plays the ukulele.
The MC is Steve Bennett. Tickets are €10 in advance from Róisín Dubh; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; and www.roisindubh.net; or €12.50 at the door.
