Get up on yer bike for Croí!

Local charity to host 22nd Annual Tour de Lough Corrib Charity Cycle in June

FREDDIE MERCURY once sang 'I love to ride my bicycle, I love to ride my bike', while Luke Bloom encouraged listeners to, 'Ah go on, get up on your bike!' - and Galwegians will have the chance to do this for charity this summer.

Local heart and stroke charity Croí is calling on all cyclists to participate in the upcoming 22nd Annual Tour de Lough Corrib Charity Cycle on Sunday June 4. This event is the biggest charity cycle in the west of Ireland and offers a choice of a 45km or a 120km route through Connemara. Local company, Corrib Oil has been the main sponsor of the event since its inception, with supporting sponsors this year being Al Hayes Motors, Carragh Precision, and Velocity Bike Store, Oranmore.

Entry to the event is free but cyclists are asked to fundraise in support of the fight against heart disease and stroke. To participate, cyclists can pre-register at www.croi.ie
