City gets techie with return of AtlanTec Festival

Back for a second year the AtlanTec Festival 2017 is a series of live events across the city, showcasing and celebrating the best of technology the city has to offer whilst providing networking, social, learning and business opportunities.

Between now and the end of May, once again Galway’s leading companies are opening their doors to share their innovation and knowledge to our vibrant tech community. This year’s showcase also includes a series of international and local speakers helping to shape the future of innovation in the west.

The festival culminates in a week of events featuring Women In Technology, the inspiring AtlanTec Conference and the inaugural Tech Tag Rugby World Championship event.

A panel of female leaders in their fields, Ann O’ Dea CEO and Co-founder Silicon Republic and Founder of Inspire Fest, Dr. Niamh Shaw STEAM Artist, Jacqui Ferguson SVP and GM, HPE and Prof. Anne Scott, VP Equality and Diversity NUI Galway are among those who will talk on issues regarding females challenging traditional norms. Are empowered women in business finally being recognised? As women’s lives become more balanced and their presence more common, are they finally receiving the recognition they fully deserve?

The festival commenced last Friday with the first in-company event ‘Integrate, Observe and Tackle our coffee consumption: IoT in action’, in Storm Technology, where delegates got a glimpse of innovation of the future available here today, where our own personal coffee tastes can be catered for and never again will our kitchens run out of coffee.
