The Eyre family of Eyreville, County Galway, will be the subject of the public lecture from the Galway Archaeological and Historical Society in the Harbour Hotel on Monday April 10 at 8pm.
The lecture, entitled ‘Portraits, family and estate papers of the Eyres of Eyreville, Kiltormer, County Galway’, will be given by Donal Burke, who recently acquired the family and estate papers relating to the Eyre family of Eyreville, a junior branch of the Eyrecourt family. The documents date from the late 17th and 18th centuries and the talk relates to some new aspects of that family’s history derived from the same papers.
