GTB Diesel Injection Services has been serving the Galway motoring community for more than 40 years. Established and managed by Mike Weerakoon and partner, they have developed the business to meet the changing needs of customers and to keep abreast of up-to-date technology.
Located at Two Mile Ditch, Tuam Road, on the outskirts of Galway city, Weerakoon's has developed specialist knowledge in fuel injection, carburetors, ECU repairs, electronics and engine tuning, embracing the latest in diagnostics and emissions testing.
Now specialising in testing and reconditioning diesel injectors and pumps for all makes of vehicles, GTB Diesel Injection Services is Galway’s primary, complete diesel injection service.
"We offer in-vehicle testing and bench testing using Carbon Zapp fully computerised machines to repair Bosch, Denso, Siemens, Continental and PD injectors. We also programme injectors," says Mike Weerakoon.
“Common causes of injector failure are wear and tear, incorrect installation, and contaminated fuel - not only does it destroy engine components, but it is also a common cause of injector failure. Injectors operate at extreme pressure and are engineered and calibrated to exceptionally fine tolerances. This makes them susceptible to contaminants, which can damage the injector. It is also imperative that a very high standard of cleanliness is observed when fitting and handling common rail units,” he explains.
Diesel and petrol injectors are reconditioned at GTB Diesel Injection Services premises, using specialist tools and computers. They are tested before dispatch and a printout is available on request for customers.
“If a client needs injectors pronto, I can usually supply them with a replacement injector, in exchange for their old ones. We also offer a courier service for customers nationwide.”
