The EYE Cinema will get a taste of Hollywood for one night only pre-general release on March 31, as Sanctuary premieres in Galway to raise funds for a new theatre for Blue Teapot.
Fresh from winning the prestigious Michael Dwyer Discovery award at this year’s Audi Dublin International Film Festival, the cast of Sanctuary will be in attendance on the night, and will also host a Q&A session following the screening.
Guests will be treated to complimentary cocktails, prosecco, supper bowls and jazz with Joy of Jazz and The Garret Philips Quintet in the g-Suite post screening. Sonja Mohlich of TV3’s Xpose & Ireland AM, will also be presenting prizes for ‘Best Dressed’ on the night.
Speaking about the Gala, Blue Teapot Artistic Director Petal Pilley said, “This fundraising event is the first step towards our vision of buying a creative home for Blue Teapot, our work is now recognized internationally and we are proud ambassadors for high quality Irish Arts and Disability and we need a permanent home.” This fabulously entertaining film will win your heart. Set in Galway, it deals in a very special way with the challenges faced by people with intellectual disabilities as they struggle to forge relationships and find love.
Sanctuary debuted at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2016 where it won the Best First Irish Feature Award, and is also featuring in Film Festivals in New York, Chicago, LA, Sydney, Melbourne and Vancouver.
A fundraising raffle will be held on the night, with fantastic prizes including an original headpiece inspired by the theme of jazz and cocktails created by Suzie Mahony Designs. And an Edwin Longueville Blue Teapot piece specifically for the night, with all money raised going to support the new building project.
Gala Tickets are priced at €135 and are available from the ICE Ticket Hotline on 091-546700 between 9am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
