Galway based charity, Breast Cancer Research, are asking women nationwide to take part in this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon on Monday 5th June in support of Breast Cancer Research. It’s the biggest women's event of its kind in the world and you can walk, jog or run to take part and help raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Research.
In Ireland, 1 in 10 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime with over 2,800 cases diagnosed here each year. The charity funds a comprehensive research programme at the National University of Ireland, Galway lead by Professor Michael Kerin with the aim to greatly improve the future outcomes for breast cancer patients through research.
