Renmore singer Pat Creaven, is chasing his dream of country music success in Glor Tíre TG4’s nationwide search for a country star.
Pat Creaven, who originally hails from Woodbrook, in Newbridge Co Galway is taking part in the nationwide search for a country music star. One of a family of eleven children, growing up on a farm, with its joys and sorrows, drew Pat to country music where every song tells a story. With his deep rich voice, he is very much at ease with songs in that genre.
From the time he was a child, Pat loved music. A pencil, or the handle of a sweeping brush would serve as his microphone as he entertained his family around the open fire.
Pat grew up in the era of the marquees, and he danced to some of the big names of Irish country music. Larry Cunningham, Big Tom, and Brian Coll were all major influences in Pat’s musical life. He was also influenced by other international artists, including Charlie Pride, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Val Doonican.
Pat settled in Renmore in Galway city where he has lived for the past fifteen years. With his wife Triona, an accomplished keyboard player, this well-known Galway duo perform under the title ‘Perfect Together’.
Pat’s witty style and easy banter with the audience makes him a local star. Glor Tire’s TG4 national competition on Tuesday’s nights has “been like a dream come true” for this popular Galway singer. He has already released two CDs and is currently working on a new country style album.
Pat is a contestant in the current series of Glór Tíre on TG4, aired on Tuesday nights, with mentors Keith and Lorraine McDonald of ‘The Showband Show’.
You can watch Pat next Tuesday night on at 9.30 pm on TG4. To vote for Pat text GLOR3 to 53307 or download the Glor Tíre app to purchase votes at a reduced rate. For bookings contact Pat on 087-1448024
