Fianna Fáil TD for Galway West Éamon Ó Cuív says he has received guarantees from Irish Water that the water pressure issue, which has been affecting residents in Roundstone, will be resolved by the end of the year.
The company will construct a new booster pump station to relieve the problem.“People living in the Roundstone area, and particularly those on Inishee island, have been experiencing serious problems with their water pressure. The issue is exacerbated in the summertime and is a source of serious frustration for the residents who cannot carry out every day household tasks because of the pressure problems”, said Deputy Ó Cuív.
“I have been in contact with Irish Water for a number of months to try and get a resolution. I am pleased that the company has now confirmed that a new booster pump station has been approved and should be delivered by the end of this year, hopefully bringing an end to these problems.“Construction will begin as soon as a site is secured and planning permission has been granted.
“I would encourage all parties involved in the process to act speedily to ensure that the design, procurement and installation stages pass off without any delay.“I am pleased that the process is now underway and I hope that this issue will be resolved for one and for all by the end of this year,” he concluded.
