Two Galway handballers contest All Ireland semi-finals at Kingscourt, Cavan, on Saturday.
Moycullen's Martin Mulkerrins will face Westmeath's Robbie McCarty (3pm ), while Ciana Ni Churraoin meets Limerick's Martina McMahon (3pm ).
Mulkerrins booked his place after a marathon two hour and 35 minute battle with 2015 finalist Diarmuid Nash last weekend,
The Clare man won the first 21-14 and looked comfortable at 11-6 in the second, before Mulkerrins got going to level matters at 14-14 and win the second 21-18, forcing the match to a tiebreaker.
And what a game it was as both players tied at 14,15 and 18 before Mulkerrins won 21-18 to finish the match at 6.35pm having tossed out the first serve at 4pm.
Now waiting for Mulkerrins is All-Ireland champion McCarthy, who is looking for his fourth successive crown.
