Mark has been taking to the highways and byways of Ireland on a mission to photograph the ‘Faces of Ireland: 2017’ and is looking for 20 male or female models of any age to volunteer in Galway.
“I need 365 natural Irish faces!” says the photographer. “I will be taking high key, black and white photographs of the models’ head and shoulders so that viewers focus on the facial features and expressions rather than body types. All models will wear a white top. Makeup (for the girls ) will be minimal to affect as natural and consistent a look as possible across the entire range of faces. Each shot will attempt to reflect the personality of each model - in a single moment of time – which is often easier said than done!”
The photographer intends to share one photo each day for a year on social media and also make a video which will feature all the models in sequence. A coffee table book is also planned for publication later in the year.
Originally from Dublin, Mark has been living and working in Galway since 2009 when he moved West in search of a more ‘relaxed city life’ and has become particularly known for his in-home family portrait shoots and stunning landscapes in recent times.
The photoshoot for Galway will take place in the Portershed at 7pm, Tuesday 7th of March and is limited to 20 places only on a first-come-first-served basis.
All volunteer models will get to keep a high resolution copy of the final image created from the photo shoot. contact [email protected]
