Tull MacAdoo needs your vote to be The Successful TD

John Kenny and Mary McEvoy in new John B Keane stage adaptation

VOTE FOR Tull MacAdoo and he will look after you. A vote for Tull is a seat for yourself. He fought in the 1916 Rising, brought 200 jobs to the region, and has arranged television licenses and free electricity grants for “constituents in need”.

Tull MacAdoo is the name to remember on the ballot paper at the next general election, and in advance of that he will be holding a pre-election husting in Galway. As he said himself, "My door is always open to everyone in my constituency regardless of politics, I am here to help ye all."

Tull has roped in the help of his faithful daughter Kate while his wife nurses her various ailments in bed or Lisdoonvarna, but his arch enemy Flannery, the local school teacher, has plans to scupper Tull's chances of getting to the Dáil.

John Kenny stars as Tull MacAdoo in John B Keane's The Successful TD which comes to the Town Hall Theatre from Thursday March 2 to Saturday 4 at 8pm. The play also stars Mary McEvoy. Written by Keane in 1967, it is based on the author's The Letters of A Successful TD and An Irish Minister of State by John B Keane. It has been adapted for the stage by Kenny, McEvoy, and the director Michael Scott.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
