The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA ) will be hosting a fundraising Table Quiz in Flannery’s Hotel on Wednesday February 22 at 8pm. Organisers would really appreciate your support and all are welcome. No bookings are required, the entry fee for a table of 4 will be €40 and there will be spot prizes and a raffle on the night.
The IWA provide a wide range of services to people with limited mobility in Galway and throughout the country. Their overriding vision is – ‘to achieve full inclusion and integration of people with disabilities as equal and independent members of society’.
Living independently means having the freedom of choice and control to follow your dreams, whatever they may be. The IWA strive to bring about the positive political and societal changes that can lead to true independence and encourage people with disabilities to live the lives they choose without facing obstacles at every turn.
Some services offered include assisted living, motoring and transport, a resource and outreach centre in Merlin Park, and youth services which cater for young people with physical disabilities by assisting them to explore their interests and interact with other young people.
