A circle of life workshop will take place at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Newtownsmith on Saturday February 18 from 10am to 4pm. Admission is €10.
It will be given by Nellie Curtin who has an interest in Celtic spirituality and has given workshops on the topic for many years. The event will focus on the cyclical aspect of life, according to Imelda O’ Sullivan, of the organising committee.
When we take the time to understand the rhythm and flow of the seasons it helps us cope better with life situations, she says.
“This will be an opportunity to celebrate the new life emerging from the earth. We will draw on the sources of healing and we will meditate on the newness of life among us. We will experience the richness of our traditions and symbols appreciating their relevance in today’s world. We will express our creativity as we share life together... so bring music or poetry or whatever you imagine touches into the wonder of creation.”
A second workshop will be held over a weekend from May 5 to 7. As part of the event participants will visit Glenmalure, Shekina Sculpture Gardens and St Kevin’s Bed in Glendalough.
It is advisable to book early as spaces are limited. A deposit of €20 secures a place. For further information contact Imelda at (086 ) 6098887 or Carmel at (087 ) 9862485.
