A FEAST of prog-rock bands

VASA, Body Hound, and Slowboke to play Róisín Dubh

VASA, "ONE of the most exciting, dynamic instrumental bands in the UK," according to The Independent, who play "riffs the size of King Kong's scrotal baskets", are coming to Galway this weekend.

The quartet play the next FEAST gig this Saturday at 8.30pm, upstairs in the Róisín Dubh, along with Body Hound and Slowboke.

VASA play explosive and frantically inventive post-rock, what Clash magazine called, "blistering post-rock with shades of math intricacy", that turns the genre's conventions and clichés on their head, and adds a touch of Celtic-influenced roots. They have appeared at T in The Park, A Colossal Weekend, A Carefully Planned, Wickerman Festival, Doune the Rabbit Hole, and StrangeForms Festival.

Body Hound take their cues from Yes, King Crimson, 20th century classical music, and jazz; while Slowboke play "a delightful combination of mathlicous licks and booty-shaking beats".

Admission is €5.
