AS WWII draws to a close, Mathilde, a young French Red Cross doctor, comes to the aid of a group of nuns, many of whom have been violated by Soviet soldiers on their march west to Berlin.
Mathilde protects them from further attacks and from the convent's hierarchy who try to conceal the scandal at all costs. This is Franco-Polish film The Innocents, which will be screened by the Galway Film Society in the Town Hall Theatre this Sunday at 8pm.
