The healthcare sector in Ireland has witnessed significant changes in the past 10 years. Increased regulation now means carers and healthcare workers are required to obtain QQI accredited courses to work in the care sector. HealthSET is a QQI accredited healthcare training company which specialises in QQI Level 5 healthcare courses for care workers.
HealthSET QQI courses are taught by highly experienced registered nurse tutors which allows learners to gain access to up-to-date clinical practices. With high learner satisfaction rates and small class sizes, adult learners gain high quality tuition and one-to-one support. Carers will learn hands-on nursing care skills through assimilated scenerios and practical demonstrations under the supervision of qualified nurses.
The home care sector remains a growth sector in Ireland, with many of HealthSET graduates gaining employment in the private home care sector after completing courses.
Currently, the minimal requirement to work in the private home care sector is QQI Level 5 care of the older person and QQI Level 5 care skills. QQI level 5 care skills starts Wednesday February 15 and QQI Level 5 care of the older person starts on Saturday February 11 in the Ballybane Enterprise Centre, Galway. These comprehensive part time courses are delivered one day a week for five weeks.
In addition, HealthSET is now offering QQI Level 5 infection prevention and control starting in April 2017. This practical based course is ideal for anyone working in a clinical based environment, covering hand hygiene and other relevant aspects of clinical practice in infection prevention and control.
Funding may be available to eligible participants.
