Galway based chartered surveyor Cushman & Wakefield has recently sold 31 acres of zoned lands located at Ardaun, Briarhill. The land is currently zoned a mix of low density residential and Ardaun objectives and was at the time of sale in agricultural use.
The Ardaun area has long been earmarked to accommodate significant future growth connecting the east suburbs of Galway city to the townlands of Oranmore and Carnmore. The current Galway City Development Plan 2011-2017 has identified the development of Ardaun as one of the key elements of its core strategy, and the settlement strategy is largely dependent on this to meet future population growth targets.
Selling agent George Brady of Cushman & Wakefield commented on the sale: “In our opinion it is a positive indicator when land currently in agricultural use, yet with future development potential, generates such a good level of interest and is successfully sold within a short time frame. It reflects the confidence of the future land investor."
