"WE WANT our records to be punchy, lean, and blazing. Straight in, no kissing." So declare Dublin grunge-pop/garage rock band Otherkin who The Independent call "a big mass of energy...who write hugely infectious tracks".
The band - Luke Reilly (vocals/guitar ), Conor Andrew Wynne (lead guitar ), David Anthony (bass ), and Rob Summons (drums ) - play the Róisín Dubh on Saturday January 28 at 9pm.
Inspired by The Clash, QOTSA, Ramones, and Blur, Otherkin have released The 201 EP and last year's The New Vice EP, and a number of singles. They have also played the Longitude, Electric Picnic, Hard Working Class Heroes, and Leeds and Reading festivals. They have also enjoyed airplay from BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac.
The band are no stranger to critical acclaim. The Guardian said that at their, live shows, these "blistering Dublin garage punks...play the tent as if it is Madison Square Garden"; Clash Magazine called them "a riotous four piece, all leather jackets, torn jeans and garage rock riffs"; while Pancakes & Whiskey said their songs were "roaring, captivating, loud as hell tunes".
